Carl W. Walker

Carl has over 32 years of experience in leading investigative and security operations in government and private organizations.  Carl currently serves as the Vice President of Physical Security and Investigations for a Fortune 500 company and a leading global provider of financial services technology solutions.  Carl joined his current employer in 2016 and now leads the company’s internal security and investigative operations in the country’s southeast region including Georgia.  Carl is responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs related to the company's personnel security, real estate security, investigations, governance, risk management, and compliance.

Previously, Carl had a 28-year career with the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), a component of the US Department of Justice and a world-class law enforcement organization committed to protecting the public from violent crime.  He began his ATF career as a special agent and advanced through the ranks in a wide range of operational and leadership positions across the country.  In 2014, Carl was appointed the senior executive responsible for ATF’s criminal enforcement and industry regulatory operations in the State of Georgia, where he helped create programs and strategies to reduce violent crime in collaboration with federal, state, and local law enforcement and prosecution agencies, community leaders, social service providers, and private businesses.  At ATF, Carl gained extensive experience in leading and executing complex multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional investigations and programs on national and international levels, and in fostering and leveraging relationships with key internal and external partners and stakeholders to achieve the federal government’s mission and goals.

Carl is a member of Atlanta Metropol, Inc., American Society for Industrial Security International, International Association of Chiefs of Police, and National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives.  Carl earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in Texas.
