Michael K. Anderson

Community Outreach

Mike is an Atlanta native that has served as senior executive for one of the most iconic Fortune 500 companies in America.  He has also held the position of president & CEO for two of the most impactful corporate foundations in Georgia, responsible for approximately half a billion dollars of corpus investments and grantmaking.  His career has included senior leadership positions in operations, sales & marketing, shared services, information technology, strategic planning, labor relations, and workforce development and training.


Mike received a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was also inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni.  He has an MBA from Emory University and is an alumnus of the Regional Leadership Institute, Leadership Georgia, and Leadership Atlanta.


In the community, Mike serves on numerous boards, including chair-elect of the Emory-Saint Joseph’s Healthcare System, Georgia Tech Foundation and Advisory Boards, Winship Cancer Research Institute advisory board, Emory University Board of Visitors, Georgia Tech Industrial & Systems Engineering, Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl, and Horizons.  His past board affiliations include the Eisenhower Consortium for Science and Mathematics, Georgia Tech Athletic Association, 100 Black Men of Atlanta, Zoo Atlanta, Southeastern Council of Foundations, Electric Vehicle Association of the Americas, Regional Atlanta Civic League, Buckhead Business Association, Atlanta Area Council of Boy Scouts of America, Kennestone Health Care Foundation, and Center for Puppetry Arts.


Anderson’s recognitions include the Atlanta Area Council of Boy Scouts of America Silver Beaver and Whitney M. Young Awards, Woodruff Arts Center Exceptional Service Award, Chauncey Davis Foundation’s Man of The Year Award, Atlanta Business League Men of Distinction Award, St. Vincent de Paul Hope in Action Award, Georgia Institute of Technology’s Total Person Alumnus Award, and the Dean Griffin Community Service Award.


He and his wife Andreane have one son, Christopher, also a graduate of Georgia Tech.
